About Us: |
||
| The processing plant is located about eight miles from the city of Kenai. Most of our hiring is done during the month of June. There are no travel allowances. You must be physically present to be hired. However, if you will make arrangements with the Personnel office to arrive on a specific date, we will save you a position, provided that you will have the correct documentation to allow us to hire you. During the busy time up to 200 individuals are employed around the clock to unload, ice, butcher, freeze, box and ship salmon. The peak period usually lasts from four to six weeks beginning in early July and ending the middle of August. The Kenai plant has limited housing in two-person rooms at a nominal cost for those who live out of our area with a priority for the returning employees. In addition, there are designated areas for camping at a nominal fee. A tarp or a tent with a rainfly to shed the rain is necessary. Microwaveable food is available for purchase along with microwaves to use. With the limited food service you will have to be prepared to cook for yourself. There are gas cook ranges to use. Showers are available on-site, as well as a laundry facility. | ||
| You will be paid an hourly wage and time and a half for overtime. When we are operating around the clock, at peak production, you will be asked to work a 12 to 16 hour shift, seven days a week. The starting wage for the 2008 season at the Kenai & Kasilof River Plants is $7.25 per hour . All employees are hired through the Main Office at the Kenai Plant. You will be required to have the proper documentation. (see Jobs page) | ||
